Chris Combs is a guitarist, composer, and producer from Tulsa, OK whose work with Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, COMBSY, and many more have achieved international acclaim for blending jazz, hiphop, and experimental elements with a love for improvisation. His career has put him on stage and in the studio with legends including George Porter Jr, Jeff Coffin, Mike Dillon, Matt Chamberlain, and a large number of MCs and singer-songwriters. Combs has performed and presented his work at some of the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals including North Sea Jazz, Montreal Jazz Festival, Jazzwerkstatt Bern, SXSW, Blue Note Jazz Festival, and many more. His trio features JFJO/Electric Beethoven alum Josh Raymer on drums and the Colorado dates will include Denver-based Hunter Roberts on bass. Together they forge a unique blend of modern tones; with exciting original works complemented by new arrangements of tunes from Frank Ocean and J Dilla and wild takes on classics from Charles Mingus and Thelonius Monk.
