Paa Kow Quintet – Late Night Show Reservation
Orchid Denver 1448 Market Street, Denver8:30pm Doors/9:00pm Show $20 cover at the door Having toured internationally, sharing stages with both African and American luminaries including Kojo Antwi, Amakye Dede and Victor Wooten, Ghana born drummer and composer, Paa Kow, (pronounced Pah-Ko), blends rhythm and artistry from his home with jazz and African roots creating his own Afro-Fusion sound. Dubbed "Ghana's most artistic drummer" (Modern Ghana), he plays a custom, hand-carved, traditionally inspired Ghanaian drum set that is the only one of its kind in the world, guaranteeing an extraordinary cultural and musical experience. Growing up in the small village of Enyan Denkyira near Cape Coast in Ghana, West Africa, Paa Kow began to play music and tour with his family’s concert band at a very early age. He has since grown to be widely recognized as one of the most remarkable drum set players to tour in Africa, Europe, and America. Paa Kow’s deep groove and prodigious talent reveal a unique ability to speak to listeners with his drums, inspiring a profound spiritual conversation and fulfilling his vision to spread the music and culture of his homeland by touring the world with his Afro-Fusion Orchestra.

His energetic stage performance and unique style has gathered and held the attention of concert goers and electric guitar enthusiasts in the Midwest live music and festival scene for over 10 years. Lucas Parker Band’s music possesses the sleek precision of Steely Dan while still honoring the tradition of reckless abandon that is improvisational rock music. At the center is Lucas’ guitar playing, which can be described as putting ingredients from Jeff Beck, Pat Metheny, and David Gilmour in a blender pressing shred. LPB has supported numerous national acts including: Andy Frasco & the U.N., Nate Smith & Kinfolk, TAUK, Ariel Posen, Marbin, Consider the Source and many more. Averaging a combined 150 shows a year coast to coast with LPB, Denver-based power trio Cycles, and KCMO’s Jessica Paige (Pitch Magazine Best Vocalist 2021), Lucas has earned a reputation as one of the hardest working musicians in the area. Lucas has appeared on NPR Tiny Desk with Tech N9ne, as well as having performed on stage with Joe Bonamassa, Warren Haynes, Nikki Glaspie, Benny Bloom, and many others. Lucas Parker’s debut LP 0 to 60 is scheduled for release in 2023.

A prolific composer, musical director, bandleader, producer bassist and advocate, Hodge has played on some of music’s most iconic albums, written & performed breakthrough orchestral arrangements and compositions, scored an impressive catalog of film and television work and created evocative sonic installations for prestigious cultural institutions, all alongside his work as an activist in the field of emerging young musicians. To date he has been awarded two Grammys, named a Sundance Composer Fellow, received the Motif Award; one of Nation’s highest honors for Child Advocacy, and his playing on Common’s “BE” has been officially recognized as one of top 20 basslines in Hip Hop History. Adam Deitch Adam Deitch is a Grammy-nominated American record producer and drummer based in Denver, Colorado. He is the drummer for the bands Lettuce, Break Science, and The Adam Deitch Quartet, and has worked in the hip hop, funk, electro, pop, and jazz genres. He has collaborated with renowned artists like 50 Cent, Talib Kweli, John Scofield, and Ledisi. He was nominated for the 2010 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album for writing and producing two songs on Ledisi's album Turn Me Loose as part of the Fyre Dept. production team. He was also nominated for the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for Lettuce's album Elevate. In 2014, Deitch started his own record label, Golden Wolf Records, through which he's released music from his solo project (Adam Deitch) and The Adam Deitch Quartet (Adam Deitch - Drums // Wil Blades - Organ // Eric “Benny” Bloom - Trumpet // Ryan Zoidis - Saxophone). Deitch also co-founded Royal Family Records.
